The N700S Series Shinkansen (“S” for Supreme) is the latest high-speed train operated by JR Central and JR West on the Tōkaidō and Sanyō Shinkansen lines, introduced in 2020.
Designed for maximum efficiency, comfort, and safety, the N700S can reach up to 300 km/h while offering quieter acceleration, energy-saving technologies, and modular components for easy maintenance. Interiors feature larger windows, improved seats, and better luggage space, with enhanced earthquake and tilt-response systems.
